Welcome to Ms. Foley`s fourth class blog. It’s hard to know where to start as we have been so busy.
This week in science we have been using a thermometer to measure the outside temperature each day this week We tied in some mathematical skills by recording our results on a line graph.
Maths took us out of our classroom in order to measure the length of the school yard, corridors and hall areas around the school using metre wheels. We were split into groups of four and worked as a team before finally recording our results on a table. We must have done a good job because each team had to go to the same locations at different times but our results tallied with each other.
We use our ipads to research topics we have been studying that week eg trees, famous women, rivers but this week we did a quiz on our native birds. This was fun and exciting because the quiz was also projected on to our whiteboard which meant we could watch each others progress and see who was in the lead.
We entered an An Post story writing competition which meant we had to write an alternative ending to our favourite book. We await to hear the results!
All year we have been weaving well-being in our class. That means we understand what feeling well means. We identified our character strengths in term 1. We also let our class mates know which character strengths we thought they had. In the second term we learned about 5 ingredients that make up a positive emotion potion. That means we practice 5 skills to help us feel positive and cope with the ups and downs of life!
We get our easter holidays today. We deserve our two week break. We made some stained glass crosses to mark this time in our art class. Have a look below at some of our work!
