We have been so busy in Ms. Mackell’s class this week. We learnt all about Australia last month. We all researched and presented projects about Australian animals to the class. We are glad we don’t have any spiders, snakes or boxfish jelly fish in Newbridge. Although some of us we love to have pet koalas and kangaroos! We have now started to learn all about Germany this week and have enjoyed learning about the German culture, food and landmarks in Germany. Hallo, wie gehts? We had fun especially learning German phrases and speaking to our friends in the class in German. We are hoping to have a German party where we will try some German food and have a look at Lederhosen.
For history we have started to learn all about World War 2 and were fascinated to hear about how the war started, rationing and the Blitzkreig. In Gaeilge we have been learning about the home and have designed our homes using the correct Gaeilge vocabulary and we have continued practising Gaeilge phrases and conversation starters using our Irish ball. In maths we have been revising different topics such as capacity, division and weight.
A huge congratulations to the children in our class who won their U10’s Gaelic Football semi-final match. Best of luck for the final next week!!
